A message from the HOA President: Arthur Hobbs
Hello Chapel Hill Homeowners:
The lyrics of the familiar Christmas song “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas” by Burl Ives, written by Johnny Marks in 1962 and featured in the 1964 Rankin-Bass Christmas special, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer had the holiday spirit then and now.
“Have a holly, jolly Christmas, It's the best time of the year, I don't know if there'll be snow, But have a cup of cheer, Have a holly, jolly Christmas, And when you walk down the street, Say hello to friends you know, And everyone you meet.”
The aroma of Christmas and New Year now fills the air. It’s time for the season’s joy to fill the hearts of every man, woman, girl and boy. Young and old the joy we know flows around the world through the songs we sing like Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls, Let it Snow, Frosty the Snowman, Silver Bells, The First Noel, Hark the Herald Angels Sing and even more. Decorating our homes, we remember Jesus is the reason for the season, even in this time of the pandemic we have the love of Christ to share across our community.
In the midst of the pandemic we can still have joy in the community, city, county and country, in every household, hamlet, home, and homestead when we do something for others. Right here in Chapel Hill we have so much to be thankful for!
Let’s not forget all the blessings and His benefits as we journey onwards through this year, Let’s share the cups of joy, cheer, peace on earth and good will toward everyone, because of Christ.
The pandemic may have changed how we gather to enjoy the holidays, but we can look forward to the day when the HOA can host another community holiday celebration in the park, sitting or standing around the fire pit sharing a laugh or two over apple cider and lifting up our voices in songs of the season. What memories we will have about this year to store with the times of the past holiday seasons.
So, Chapel Hill let’s still have a holly jolly Christmas again this year. We are wishing you and your family a safe and healthy holiday season. Our prayers are with you all.
Sincerely,
Arthur M. Hobbs
